Show us your life- Wedding dress

Well Kelly has moved from show us where you live to show us your life. This week is wedding dresses and boy was it fun to look at all the pictures from my wedding 11 years ago. My daughter loved looking through all the pictures as well and I was so touched when she asked if she could get married in my dress. Now mind you she is only 6 and 1/2 so she could change her mind, but I am going to relish in the thought for right now. I absolutely loved my dress, it was an amazing experience to have a dress fit you perfect. I am not a beads and lace type of girl so I picked a simple ivory dress with a lovely scalloped bottom that was sheer, my skirt looked liked flower petals. I got my dress at Cincinnati Bridal and Formal and it was by Nancy Isler(sp?). I also had a veil sewn onto a matching headband and it was very comfortable for the wedding. The only problem was at the reception I didn't want to wear the veil so we had to cut the veil off the headband. I highly recommend the use of velcro for anyone considering the same thing. I can't wait to look at all the other wedding dresses on Kelly's blog.

VBS 2009

Last week Abby and Will attended VBS at the church where they attended pre-school. Our church does not offer a traditional VBS so I really wanted my kids to experience all the great fun I had as a kid at VBS. The theme this year was Flight School: Faithfully Living in God's Holy Truth. The kids learned scripture, songs and loved watching the drama team act out a story each day. I've attached some video of the kids singing one of the songs, the song was based on Hebrews 12:1 and the kids were encouraged to get rid of what drags you down. I love that we have a VBS CD so the kids and I can continue to sing about the truths they learned over the week. I am so grateful for the men and women who devoted so much time and energy into making VBS such a successful week. Abby and Will had tennis lessons that morning so Abby wanted to stay in her tennis outfit for VBS, her best friend Regan is right next to her. I was impressed that Will was singing, he doesn't always want to participate but I am so glad he did.

July at Lake Erie 2009

Well we had another great July up at Lake Erie. We were there 10 days and the weather couldn't have been better. I took my camera but left the memory card at home. Thus the only pictures I have are the ones I captured on my Flip video camera. I am hoping that all those who took a million pictures of my kids will forward them along to me. The picture above is of Abby and Will at the Fourth of July parade at Ruggles Beach. They got to deck themselves out in red, white and blue and we played some good ole american songs on our kazoos, it was truly an experience.

We also headed to Cedar Point for one evening and the kids rode the Frog Hopper again. They had so much fun and they road the Jr Gemini all by themselves for the first time!!

We feel so blessed to get to go to the Lake several times a year. We got to watch fireworks, take a boat ride, relax on the beach and Mike and I even got a date night. Thankyou Lord for the great family time we experienced over those ten days.
