Housing Chart

I found this to be staggering. The video is a little long but worth watching. It is amazing that no one else talks about this stuff. I know it can be overwhelming to focas on the current economic situation but I also think we should be informed and prepared. Dear Lord please grant some common sense on Washington, please let there be some bright stars on capital hill who can wisely help us make the best decisions for my children's future. If things need to be tough for a while in order to get us back on solid footing, then so be it. I just want to trust someone in government again. I know that my hope and trust is first found in you but while we are down here on earth, please raise up some leaders who seek your guidance as well. Please be with those who have been hit the hardest, may their faith in you be strengthened and may we as Christians help our fellow brothers in need.

Pursuit of What

"America's political system used to be about the pursuit of happiness. Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered." Jonah Goldberg

With all the talk(scare tactics) about the need for the bailout, I found this line in the book Liberal Facism to be very timely and accurate. I am not an expert on the economy but I do know that if I don't pay my bills, or if I overspend, I alone am responsible for it. This makes me wonder what has happened to accountability in this country. I am praying for this country like never before that the leaders will seek the wise council of our heavenly father. Help me God to know my place in all this. Not only how I can pray for my country but how I can be of service to it.

If anyone else is feeling lost in the process and is wondering how to be involved in shaping the future of our country please checkout glennbeck.com. Click on the current events tab at the top and check out "we surround them". Glenn is helping to start a grass roots effort to help thoose of us who have principles we want to see upheld. Check it out and if you agree with 7 of the 9 principles listed he wants you to email your picture to wesurroundthem@gmail.com. Wishing everyone a fruitful week.

Inconvienent Debt and Fashion Friday

As Al Gore is petitioning about global warming and the inconvienent truth, Glenn Beck is bringing to light what we should really be focusing on. The chart speeaks for itself, it is amazing to see what the country has managed to do with our money in just the year 2008. Pass this on if you are as concerned as me about the current spending(I mean stimulus) bill that is looming over on Capital Hill

On a completely unrelated note, if you love fashion and could use some fun tips, head on over here. Every Friday you will find something useful and entertaining. A couple of weeks back she did her first video for Fashion Friday, she showed four ways of tying a scarf, I learned two new ways. Melanie is a really neat gal that I have been following on her blog for a couple weeks now. Have fun!!!

HE's Here!!

Well as I try to reflect on the "Miracle on the Hudson" I am in awe but not surprised. Not surprised that God would show up in such a way to let us know that HE is still here, he has always been here with us and always will be. I didn't come at this thought at first. My first thoughts were, that is amazing, what a miracle and I hope that God gets the glory for it. Then as I was listening to Glenn Beck this morning he talked about how this story of the plane and another story he had heard made him realize that the bigger meaning is that God is simply saying " I'm Here". In this world of uncertain financial times, media that bombards you with as much negative news as possible and a war against terrorism I think we can feel abandoned. Even those who might not be worried about the former may feel abandoned because they did not get their miracle, their answer, their prayer from God. However, I feel encouraged that while I have always known and believed that God is ever present in my life and this world, it sure is nice to get an honest to goodness clear sign that God showed up. So thanks to the pilot, crew and people on the plane that did their part in this amazing miracle but lets not forget that God showed up big!!!
