Good Day

Well today was a really good day. We started off by going to church and had a great sermon as always and the kids had a nice time in their classes as well. Then we headed to Beavercreek to see my parents, brother and sister-in-law and my nephew to celebrate by dad's birthday. We ate a late lunch at Bob Evans which was good, but I was bummed that they stopped serving oatmeal after 2pm. I was really craving it and when I went to order it the waitress said it wasn't available. How can Bob Evans serve breakfast all day but skimp on the oatmeal, I settled for blueberry bread and bacon, not the healthiest but I had to order quickly.

After lunch we headed back to my parents and ate some delicious cake and icecream. The cousins had so much fun running around together. For my dad's birthday my nephew picked out a Bakugan for him and he had one for himself. My brother and nephew were throwing them on the ground to get them to open. I told them I didn't think that was the way you opened them, I said I think you need the magnetic card. Sure enough I was right, I guess all those bakugan commercials came in handy. Then we headed back home and Mike headed off to teach the Dave Ramsey course at church while I hung out with the kids. It was so nice outside so the kids rode their bikes to the pond, then the park. Then they ran around with the neighbors outside for a while before dinner. Then we headed to pizza hut for carry out and Abby wanted to eat in the basement in her pj's. So we watched the Disney channel(new Hannah Montana and Jonas episodes) and then tucked them into bed.

Thankyou Lord for this beautiful weather you provided. Thanks for the rainbow prism we saw in the sky as we drove, the kids remembered it was a reminder of your promise to Noah. Thankyou for such an enjoyable time with my family, it was so nice to hangout and talk/laugh together. Help me to remember and recognize these special moments and to give thanks for them.

Rainy day

Well today it did nothing but rain and as usual whenever I needed to drop off or pickup today it rained harder. My husband also had the only non pink umbrella so I attended Bible Study this morning with a pink Hello Kitty umbrella, luckily I like pink. Well we got a teeny break in the weather this afternoon so we all headed to the store. Well wouldn't you know that by the time we were ready to leave it was pouring down rain, I mean really hard. Of course I had no umbrella for any of us and a cart full of groceries. So we ran for it and it was so fun. The kids and I were screaming and laughing all at the same time. I got them into the car and then of course preceded to get the wet groceries in the trunk. When I got in the car Abby said "Boy Mommy, you got the wettest!!". What I love about kids is they can change your perspective. Pre-kids I would not have seen our misfortune as fun or an adventure. Yet with my kids it seemed like a fun little memory and bonding experience. So while I would not choose to have it rain today we made the best of the day, downpour and all. Thankyou Lord for the ability of my children to make me laugh and keep things light hearted. They truly are a gift and a wonderful blessing.

Promise

Is our God amazing or what. This is the picture out my back window today. It was not only the most vibrant rainbow I have ever seen, it was also a double rainbow. There was intense rain, wind and then the sun came out and God provided a rainbow. What a powerful God, the same God the can bring wind and rain can bring the beauty of a rainbow as well. This all occurred within a few minutes, wind then rain then sun then rainbow. Thankyou Lord for your promise to Noah that you would never destroy the earth again with a flood and used a rainbow to seal the promise. Thank you that during these uncertain times you reveal yourself to us, you give us hope, you give us the gift of eternal life. I am truly blessed to be loved by you.
